
Victor Lizarraga had been going good.
Now he’s not.
The 21-year-old exited with one out in the second inning of Double-A San Antonio’s 10-9 win at Amarillo on Friday.
An update was not immediately available.
Lizarraga struck out one and allowed a run on one hit and a walk in 1 ⅓ innings.
Lizarraga had allowed one run over 13⅓ innings over his previous three starts. He has a 6.65 ERA and was allowing hitters a .296 average in a trying season in the Texas League.
Lizarraga is ranked No. 13 among Padres prospects by MLB.com.
Right fielder Ripken Reyes (.742 OPS) drove in three runs on his first homer and left fielder Kai Murphy (.614 OPS) drove in two runs on his first homer.
Designated hitter Brandon Valenzuela (.820 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, a walk and two runs scored.
Catcher Anthony Vilar (.623 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
San Antonio is 34-27.
