I encourage all my greater San Diego area neighbors to me in opposing the proposal of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to rescind Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations on new construction. I live in a senior retirement community where almost every resident has some kind of disability. We have made such progress in creating an environment of respect and dignity for persons with disabilities, it is unthinkable that we should take that away in the name of efficiency. These DOGE changes will go into effect on July 15 unless significant opposition comments are received by Monday, June 16. Voice your opposition to federal policy docket DOE-HQ-2025-0015 at the regulations.gov website now.
