
Jared Kollar got off to a rough start Saturday night at Triple-A El Paso.
Neither he nor the Chihuahuas entirely recovered.
The 26-year-old right-hander allowed four runs in the first inning, burying El Paso early in a 7-6 loss to visiting Sacramento.
Kollar went on to pitch three innings. He allowed five runs on six hits and three walks, including two home runs. He struck out one batter.
Kollar was an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has a 3.78 ERA over 235⅔ innings in the minors.
Kollar had a 4.72 ERA after reaching Triple-A El Paso last summer. He started 2024 with a 3.04 ERA over 83 innings to start that year at Double-A San Antonio.
Left-hander Jason Blanchard struck out two over two scoreless innings. Right-hander Kevin Kopps and left-hander Tom Cosgrove both struck out a batter over a scoreless frame.
Right-hander Logan Gillaspie allowed two runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Left-hander Austin Davis recorded the last four outs without giving up a run, though he hit wo batters and allowed two hits.
Shortstop Mason McCoy drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, and designated hitter Trenton Brooks drove in three runs on two hits. Third baseman Mike Brosseau went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double.
El Paso is 1-1.
